Our Mission:
To support families in the Republic of Georgia affected by the August 2008 Russia-Georgia War by providing scholarships and other valuable educational opportunities to students and youth from the Gori Region.
The Gori Regional Education Fund receives a great deal of support from the University of Georgia in Tbilisi. Most valuable is the participation of student volunteers. 10 student leaders and participants of a one-month project design and fundraising course will recruit their fellow students to participate in the "10 Lari Project," to be implemented in mid-October. Each student at the University of Georgia will raise at least 10 Georgian Lari (approximately $7.15) as a contribution to GREF. Student leaders are required to design the fundraising and recruitment campaign, collect funds, and communicate with leaders.
